About ironman123

ironman123 started this conversation

I was laid off in jan 2009. Since then I have been seaching jobs on the internet. I haven't received any feedback so I started drinking at 10am everyday. Before my lay off I was also drinking on a regular basis just to feel good. I am now at the point where my drinking is taking over my life. If you have any suggestions to rid this problem please let me know or I am going to be living out of a shopping cart very soon.

thank you,

Yes, AA is a good start.  But if you aren't a Christian, perhaps you might consider establishing a personal relationship with God.  He will provide all of your needs through Christ Jesus.  I speak from experience, although I have been a Christian almost my entire life.

I was laid off from my job in 2003, then went back to school for my masters degree.  Ha.  A lot of help that did me.  I couldn't find work then either.  I just got into more debt.  I ended up applying for disability when I didn't know what else to do since I have carpal/arthritis and a chronic back condition, related to all of the hard work I've done in my life.

God ended up opening a door for me to move out of state.  After two years, I finally got on disability and all my bills are now current.  I did, however, have to file bankruptcy before leaving my home state.  But everything worked out for me because I trusted God, and He did provide.  He provided people along the way - even non-believers - to help me financially and fix my car until that door opened for me.  Trust me, God is the answer to all of your problems.

Well, the first thing I would say is to stop drinking.  If you feel that you can't do it alone then find a local AA meeting - they have helped many people completely turn their lives around.  They have resources that will help you in all areas of your life once you have gotten sober.  Best wishes, Rosie
